Revolver (working title) is a WIP/backburner personal project inspired by CS:GO surf maps and Sojourn's slide-jump ability from Overwatch. By holding down space, you start sliding in any direction and gain speed over time. You also spin your pistol around your finger faster and faster until you have max ammo. Release space to jump into the air (jump higher the faster you were sliding) and shoot anything below you before holding down space again to quickly drop to the ground into another slide.

Revolver is set on the planet of Guressen in the Hierre system.

⌨ DEVELOPMENT


I spent a weekend on a self-imposed solo game jam, where I aimed to develop a fun, satisfying movement system. I landed on a slide → jump → shoot in the air → land → repeat gameplay cycle. I added some corny 90's effects like rotating the camera when strafing, a comic book POW! effect when shooting, and a dramatic freeze frame before whatever you shot explodes.

The project was visually inspired by ULTRAKILL, Dusk, and other boomer shooters.
